Safety Coordinator

Chicopee manufacturing company currently seeking a Safety Coordinator for their facility. This position would report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for the development and implementation of programs designed to create a culture of safety in the workplace. This position will work closely with the plant staff to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include:

-Chairs the safety committee and ensures that management is properly advised as to safety needs and priorities.
-Researches and implements new safety activities to keep the program fresh.
-Walks the production floor multiple times daily over all shifts weekly to observe work practices and assist supervisors/leads in maintaining a safe work environment.
-Acts as a conduit for safety communications with workforce development programs designed to improve the safety culture for all employees.
-Oversees all plant incident investigations and assure corrective actions are implemented timely.
-Maintais all documentation required to meet federal and state safety regulations. Develops and publishes all safety metrics.
– Manages safety meetings and leads the Plant Safety Team on safety improvement initiatives and ongoing safety programs.
-Manages the plant injury reporting program and tracks and reports action item completion. Updates Plant Manager on effectiveness and performance of Safety Management System.
-Maintains and posts the plant OSHA log and safety files/records. Conducts post accident investigations.

-Associate Degree in Human Resources or applicable experience in Manufacturing environment.
-5 years of strong safety background
-Knowledge of OSHA regulations; OSHA 30hr certified preferred
-Knowledge of molding equipment, techniques and tooling a plus.
-Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Project Engineer

Project Engineer needed for a growing medical device manufacturing company! Seeking candidates with a Mechanical Engineering background and experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD software. This would be a full time, temp-hire opportunity on 1st shift with excellent growth potential.
Duties will include:
-Collaborating with technical team to develop timelines, action items and budgets for various projects.
-Write and process validation protocols for new and existing products.
-Manage projects to assure they are on schedule, tracking to hit deadlines, and are fully documented.
-Monitor performance of assigned projects to budget and schedule, provide project status updates and implement corrective actions when needed.
-Oversee the process of preparing new and modified products ensuring compliance to internal and customer requirements.
-Assist with customer contact site visits, conference calls, and daily communication.
-Provide backup to development engineers on assigned projects.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
-2-4 years of experience with Quality, Manufacturing, Project Management and R&D function
-Strong analytical and communication skills both verbal and written
-Ability to design tooling for new products and product modifications

Chicopee Manufacturer currently seeking a Buyer/Planner. Responsible for procurement of manufactured parts, raw materials, consumables, and non-inventory items. Candidate will maintain planning, scheduling and monitoring of material movement. Other duties will involve the analysis of current account management, identifying opportunities to improve current demand planning to make sure both internal and external needs are met. Experience with ERP system would be preferred.
Duties include:
-Schedule delivery dates and maintain balance of supply & demand
-Evaluate supplier performance, including quality, on-time delivery, cost and service
-Ensure data integrity within the ERP system
-Establish partnerships with potential suppliers and present to Department Lead
-Responsible for purchasing raw materials for Manufacturing, negotiate pricing, quantity and delivery commitments with suppliers. Resolving discrepancies between actual receipts, purchase orders and invoices.
-Maintaining adequate supply of materials by ordering, expediting and communicating changes to the supply chain
-Managing material supply and supply chain and all schedules and changes and will be responsible for providing regular evaluation reports and monthly report cards to key suppliers
-Reducing costs by managing cost reduction activities with suppliers and internal organizations. Negotiating, analyzing supplier quotes, and strategizing commodity purchases.
-Improving and updating inventory and participate in quarterly physical inventory counting. Implement consignment, Kanban, VMI and lead time reduction programs with suppliers.

Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer needed for medical manufacturer in Chicopee, MA. Responsible for the development and implementation of quality systems for sealed plastic film products in an ISO9001 environment involving multiple industries. 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance/control and knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, AIAG Control Plan Methodology & SPC is a plus!
Duties include:
-Oversee PPAP activities and produce submittal package
-Develop and document control plans
-Conduct statistical capability studies and set up SPC control charts
-Document inspection procedures and test methods
-Perform regular audits of processes and materials (Dealing with inspections, tests and operations and results)
-Final release of finished product based on above audits
-Direct interface with production and other support departments
-Special testing when required for failure analysis, validations, etc.
-Perform regularly scheduled calibration of measuring and test equipment
